Today

Like a pearl waiting to be discovered,
The sun rose this morning,
Blinding my eyes with it’s bright smile
Suffocating me with it’s zest for new life.
This is so rude, I thought.

But then again, wouldn’t you be?
If you were given another chance to make all wrongs right
Another chance to smile at the world
Another chance at life!

Yesterday was gone
Today was here
Tomorrow I never knew
But I had today to make things better
To turn around my tomorrow

And so today I smiled back
An understanding smile
We were in this together
Me and the sun
Smiling at another door that had been opened
And so I arose specially today
Ready to conquer the world
That was my purpose TODAY.
