A toadflax doesn't care Where it grows wild Dazzlingly thriving in full sunlight Near babbling brooks On dry banks By the roadside In the meadows Even in people's gardens A troublesome weed And a beautiful one at that A flower that I bet irritates a bee Because it prefers not to be kissed It's mouth Staying completely closed Until a bee capable of forcing its way in And reaching the nectar with its tongue Comes along Your Choice Flower Verse,Any Form ,Any Theme Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Brian Strand (Winner: Honorable Mention) Date written: 06/22/2019
