To This One Day, Condensed

A great tome, telling
A tale most ancient.
Here, Earth-displayed. Here, for it
Start to finish, dawn, dusk-lit
Soft, softer heart-bent.

Ever opened. Brought
Alive, foot-thumbing.
As if with arms held out wide
For author, life's own inside
His own to feel meant.
