To the victor goes the spoils! Shall they end up in recoil? Nothing is at it appears Those things they worked for over years Are they victories at all? Is there more to recall? When time is even shorter yet Will they carry much regret? What happens when they figure out That time is spent and they have much doubt Will these things and victories Be all there is to their life’s stories? Will they wish they spent more time building friendships of a solid kind? Will they want for one more day To hold a loved one longing to stay? Will the victor be victorious or end up empty and oblivious?
