To the Forgotten and Unknown

To the forgotten and unknowns
It's for you I write this poem

In two hundred years this will be me and you
They'll be no one left who we ever knew

To all the ones who lived long ago
It's to you, for our lives, we owe

You paved the the path we walk on now
You survived harder times somehow

All the changes and knowledge you left
I didn't think should go unaddressed

So wherever you are and whatever you do,
On behalf of this century we thank you
