To the Fallen Sun
Do you ever float on canoes anymore?
or turn off the heater and open the door?
Do you pause to reflect with the sun on your face
and dissolve into nothing when you look into space?
Is the sky falling on you to crush you to pieces?
Will your world implode suddenly from the weight of your wishes?
Do dreams come in color or just black and white?
I'll be the red in your sleep skies tonight.
Do you flow on forward or drink up the rear?
Do you lose your loved ones because of your fear?
Are you dressed in mourning clothes before someone dies?
I see the reflection of death in your eyes.
Impossible youth swept away at a glance
a positive impact struck clean for blind chance
I swallow devotion and choke on your pride
Just to see the reflection of death in your eyes.
Impossible lavender moon
is calling my ocean too soon
I fall to the shore in the white evening tide
Just to see the reflection of death in your eyes.
Do you ever listen to the engulfing rain?
or sieve through the pleasure for a moment of pain?
Do you ever adore me or just can't ignore me?
Please tell me what's eating right through to your brain...
Is the street light burned out on your block?
Are you stuck at the door but can't knock?
Have you run down my road just to lighten your load
but have forgotton the key to my lock?
I am but a moment away.
I'm sobbing but I'm not afraid.
Just one thing my mother has taught me to do
is love you each time that I pray.
I wonder what you're going through.
I'm solid but flow through the room.
No brilliant disguise, You've got death in your eyes,
And I've got nothing to lose.
