To Sleep
When will I find some sleep?
Why can’t I just recall myself?
To believe I’m gone
That I’m adrift in the silence
Can’t seem to fade away
Can’t seem to take away the lies
This constant observation
A constant light within my mind
When did I learn to breathe?
Why can’t I tear apart my lungs?
Just make me crawl to bed
Just let me break apart the sun
Still nowhere to go
Still no way to know the truth
This apprehensive victim
Is still alive inside his noose
When will I learn to die?
Why won’t I just give in today?
I bleed upon the alter
But each tiny drip revives my faith
Trade loneliness for wisdom
I’d trade the wisdom to forget
But I can’t find the sources
And I still won’t learn how to regret
