To Sleep

I dreamt of you last night
Lying here by my side
I touched you very softly
My intentions I did not hide.

Being close to you tonight
Feeling your body naked
With every touch my goal
Your slumber to awaken.

The smile that crossed your lips
Told me what I needed to know
The warmth of your kiss
Our love to start real slow.

The movement of our love
The feelings we two share
Bring us to the point
Where nothing can compare.

But now I have awaken
For it was only a dream
My bed cold and empty
My heart lets out a scream.

I long to sleep again
Next to you I must lie
No longer am I alone
No more tears will I cry.
