To Sing
A world without song would be dire,
Hell less the brimstone and fire.
Through the birth of this thing we call time,
We forged words, melody and rhyme.
An existence of life without song
Would negate a sense to belong.
Surely song and sing are the twins
To the odes the melody underpins.
We sing should our team score a goal.
We sing to enlighten the soul.
We sing if a girl or a boy,
Through song we celebrate joy.
We sing through our troubles and woes,
Then shrug, well that’s how it goes!
We sing in the shower or bath,
At the risk of a partner’s wrath.
We’re obsessed with the stars we adore,
At concerts, demand an encore.
It’s through song we relive our past,
Precious memories, forever they last.
