To Shake a Soldiers Hand
If by chance,
someday we meet,
upon a crowded street.
I’d like to
shake the hand,
of the soldier,
who fought the war,
on terror.
I’d like to shake
your hand,
for the bravery,
you’ve shown
time, and time again.
Who throughout
the endless nights,
prayed silently
for home.
With no regard to
their own feelings,
out of love,
they put our Country first,
to protect, and serve,
the land of freedom,
we call home.
