To Remember You the Way I Do

There's a mist as we let go.
You want to hold on
I know I can't
I must leave you
I can't stay here and listen to you
Every time you talk about her
my heart tears,
just a little more
just a smaller piece of my love and my life
gone forever.
I can't change what has happened
but through the mist,
even though you try desperately to cling onto me,
I must let go,
and though it is the hardest thing I have ever had to do,
I must do it
I must forget about you,
because I will never be the same
if I keep remembering you the way I do.
