To Reign In Your Fire

I who have nothing
I who am naught
wrapped in the chaos
of what Ihave wrought
weeping and waiting
and still I aspire
to harness your power
to rein in your fire
  to hitch up your wagon
to my broken dreams
oh darling,my darling
it's not what it seems
my baskets are empty
I don't need a ride
down to the market
to peddle my pride
  I just want to travel
to Danbury Fair
when you get your metal
I want to be there
to toast to your courage
along with the crowd
to sing out your ballads
and love you out loud
