To My Mother

Midwives in commotion

Tears rolling,

Heads in fear

Pattering feet in apathy

The night is pregnant,

Her time is green..

As she groaned and sweat into d lion's den,

With blood oozing out of sanctuary..

Her sanctuary, an exit for d heroine..

Out of the den she emerged

A winner...

She cuddles and lulls her

Even when illness stared at her

With lullaby she drives her into snoring
