To My Love

I thought I knew what love was, when my heart took to flight like a bird,
I get a feeling I am drowning, in every passionate word.

As I lay there all tranquil and calm, unable to resist,
My eyes betray me and stay closed, my lips, gently kissed.

Her warm breath caresses my chest, like loves music to the ears,
She manages to remove my pain, she quenches realities fears.

I see, I feel, I hear all the above
As the betrayers open to reveal my wife; my love.
