To My Beloved
Today she came and
waked me with a kiss and
Outstretched lay uncovered
at my side.
My cold heart
leapt as
Yesterday’s fears were
Washed away.
Beloved laid her healing hands
like downy feathers on my soul;
Each stroke a sweet caress
silken in the afterglow.
Love has stepped into my
wasteful life and
Opened mine eyes;
with truthfulness has she
Vowed to keep herself for
mine.
Each day brings delight
as I’ve never felt before and
Death, death would not be welcome
were it to claim me now.
