To Look Into the Eyes of Your Own Fear
To look into the eyes of your own fear
To see all the things you've been told
The history, fables, beliefs, and guides
The wishes, hopes, dreams of others
The implanted truths of years
Of repetition
Is brought into clearer focus
When looking into the eyes of another
Who wants to enter in.
Then does the wonder
Of how two sets of fears will meld
Mean to look deeper
Or to look away?
