To Let You In

you dragged your feet to my door
where they were swollen and sore
crying for me
to let you in

+++

you sung your songs at my door
and they were dead to the core
melodies of misery
to let you in

+++

you brought your love to my door
and in bringing nothing more
had my heart flung open wide
to let you in
