To Know Only Anger

Empty. After the barbed words
have exploded and you
walked out of my heart's door,
not understanding
that all I meant was
to load your hand with all
my treasures from kept boxes,
to surprise the stars in your eyes.
If one loves, why is anger
your only well of expressing your devotion?
This shatters the jewels we picked in
seashore where vows were once so sacred.
I run empty.
