To Get Past

Thinking back to, from where I came
The house I grew in and my father’s name
Those days, yes there were some happy ones
Though, there were sad ones too, I claim

Though, often times I reflected upon
The smiles I had, with purpose to go on
I pushed on through some saddened days
As now, all those days are gone
