To Fret

Life would be a whole lot better If I weren’t such a fretter. Yet, that’s just my worried way; I guess it’s in my DNA. I wish I could be less uptight And trust all that will be all right But worry worms its way inside And somehow it gets magnified. To let things slide, it’s very plain, For me would go against the grain So what I do, which I regret, Is agonize and fret, fret, fret!

To err is human / to fret more so. I fretted big time this week when I lost my lost my car keys and I had to take a resident to the doctors. I back tracked my steps the night before where I took the dog to do his thing – a long strip of grass parallel to the apartment complex – but to no avail. Some kind person had found them and dropped them in the office door slot! What relief! / M

It’s hard to bat away the worries. I look up and thank God for my blessings. A daily struggle. Be blessed, Ilene!

I soon might teach a granddaughter to jump rope. But if I try your song, I’ll have to use kvetch and kvetcher. ‘Fret’ is not part of our vocabulary. (Did you mix up “all that” in your second stanza?)

I feel a little odd taking pleasure in your fretting, but doggone it! This is just such a witty, clever write, Ilene, that I can't help myself. I'm just chuckling away at everything you wrote, and I just love the rhymes with fret and fretter. A FAVE! :) gw
