To Ernestine, My Lovely Wife

Of all God's many blessings,
The greatest would be my wife.
She looked beyond my many faults,
When agreeing to share my life.

She's always been there at my side,
Throughout our married life.
God knew what He was doing,
When choosing her for my wife.

I've never liked to go or do,
A rut's my comfort zone.
She's sacrificed so much for me,
In her, there's not one mean bone.

I've tried to do my best for her,
She's never asked for much.
In her the things I most admire,
Her smile, quiet way, her touch.

So when I thank the Lord each night,
For all that I've had in life.
The gift found at the very top,
Is a loving Christian wife.
