To Build a Fire

To build a fire demands the stamp of time, A stamp that many know, but few employ. Success means glow of light sublime And greater time its warmth will they enjoy. So many claim to know this flame's embrace, But miss enduring embers, hot as one Would ever need, but no! The panicked pace Of lonely hearts do seek the searing sun. I ask a simple thing: look past the flare That kindling creates and lower logs Much larger on the fire. This kind of care Will shoo away the dark that light defogs.
