To breathe the divine in everything

For D. I love you, my dear friend. I will miss you when you return to Heaven.

To breathe the divine in everything

We speak once a week
I'm there to be a friend
A listening ear and confidante
Someone to help you mend

You've suffered too many losses
Buried loved ones too many times
Your world has felt ever emptier
You're questioning the reasons why

For you it's been a long road
A life lived fully and without regrets
You've overcome your fears
You've learned and you've passed your tests

But your quests are getting shorter
The last one is on its way
Death is getting closer
He's about to take you away

I do not bear Him malice
He's not a force that I fear
He plays a vital role for us
Even if He leaves us tears

Death is part of Life for all
Every living thing must die
The important thing to remember
Is that we live fully and learn to fly

So that our souls are elevated
So that our hearts are free
So that we learn to love it all
So that we enjoy emotions real

And no matter what the distance
No matter the journey or the time
I'll be your friend here or in Heaven
I'll let you go and treat Death kindly

It doesn't mean that I won't miss you
It goes without saying that I hold you dear
But I know your body needs to rest
And your soul needs to feel its air

To breathe the divine in everything
That Universe's breath that we know
I hope you enjoy every moment
When we on earth have to let you go
