To Blaze New Trails

My desire's on fire, a new poem to sire This burning within now churning, newly yearning To write lines which will excite, yea, may ignite My readership, to blaze new trails of leadership... Pages crumbled, pen abandoned, the hour now weary My mind aches; my eyes no more willing, just bleary Steal I soft to sleep, my heart fresh wounded, revealed ~ Tears dry on the pillow, this episode sealed...

Your teacher self has thrown itself onto the page here, Gershon. "To write lines which will excite, yea, may ignite My readership, to blaze new trails of leadership..." I wanted to point out that this is true of all teachers, and we are all teachers, for we are poets, are we not?

I think that you have touched on a very salient point here, one that applies to both of us: Our teacher and poet personas have merged. They, and we, are one. Great insight, Caren! Thanks! :) gw

Sometimes a person just has to read a few poems; your poetry never fails to take me down a new and adventurous trail.

I was up very late last night with soup, typing notes and ideas for new poems and up early to go to my Yoga lesson, so tonight after we have dined/supped and wined, i'm off to my welcome pillow and bed! Hugs, Jennifer.

Poetry is the fiercest enemy of a sleep. My pillow won't dry from tears. Nicely done, insomniac)

Your comments are spot on, my friend... No doubt my writing poetry has added to my insomnia. Really bright of me (in the NOT sense). :) gw

As with too many endeavors (for me) these days: The Spirit is Willing, but the Flesh is Weak! LOL. The truth hurts... At any rate, hope you slept well...(not like how I sleep/don't sleep). Best wishes, Gershon
