To Be Or Not To Be

As a little girl born free
I’d like to think what I’ll be
When I cease to be called baby
And grow up to be a lady

Should I become a famous star?
Travelling in my expensive car
Acting has been my forte
Mamma says I’m going astray

Maybe, a housewife sounds good
Doing my daily chores as I should
Before my in-laws I’ve to be coy
Which will give them immense joy

Or, lie in a hammock all the day
Papa says it’s the best way
To remain happy and strong
In relaxing there’s nothing wrong!

Irrespective of what I think
Happy Diwali is on the brink
Best wishes to one and all
I hope more rain doesn’t fall.
