To Be One
I want to be free.
I want to feel the infinite.
Be infinite.
I want to be the bush in the sun,
Nourish myself from the warmth
Through my roots,
I'll quench my thirst.
I will dry and whither but my seed will stay to grow another.
To be warmed, quenched, dried and withered.
I want to be a flame strike from a match.
For just that moment.
To know to burn so fiercely and brightly.
Even for that moment,
To take a deep breath and strive in wind.
Whip with confidence, even for that moment.
The irony of that exhaled breath to snuff me,
Would not suffocate my strength.
My warmth still felt, still burns and smokes.
I want to be a star, shine only in the truest of darkness.
I want to live for billions of years,
Watch the planets age.
Watch the meteors fight.
I want to burn my brightness before I fade.
To fade.
To die.
To become a shadow of the darkness.
To be one with the universe.
