To Be Loved

Broken glass and shattered dreams
Living a loveless life
It cuts deep into the soul like a sharpened knife
Blood flows from the wounds of living alone,
wounds that only grow deeper and fester with time
Fight it as best you can,
for living this life can fell the hardiest of men,
and makes the coldest of men weep
It’s a hard life to lead,
when there’s no one to turn to,
nobody to satisfy the innate need to be loved
