To Be a Pop Star

O - To be a Pop Star

    A pop star
with millions of
    dollars
gold records on
    the wall
But....
      they stay up all night
usually high as all hell
       so (for the moment)
     I shall
        put away my harmonica and
keyboards
      (at least for now)
             return
to a life of poetry, chess
 and ESL
I am roosting at the moment
             on the Lower East Side

Wow!!! An enchanting write, Matthew - a tribute to the life of poetry. Great. Thanks for your beatiful comments on my poem nothing. Your comments remind me of one of the verses of a Persian Poet Bedil which translated in English reads thus: World is a walled prison Bedil can't scale. Whether you live happily or bewail. -Mohammad
