To Be A Child

Oh when can I be a child again
Tap my feet and dance in the rain
Life has been a long road of pain
Where there is only sorrow and unending strain

Oh give me once again the happy laughter of a child
I want to go years back in time when I was free and wild
To unload off all the accumulated garbage pile
Create some happy memories and at the back of my mind file

Oh when can I be free again to embrace the joys of life
Everywhere I look, I find heads bowed down with strife
I thought I had it all when I had a home and a wife
But all she does is look at me with daggers and a kitchen knife

Oh when can I be a child again
Live with emotions that are clean and pure
Is it so hard to find as the air we now breathe
Darling child, come now stay with me please don’t leave.
