To Armani
When I held her little body in my arms
And she looked me in the face and smiled
It made me feel right at home
It made me wonder if this is where angels roam
Her tiny hands gripping my pinky as she’s being fed
I whisper little things in her tiny ears
I hope she understands what I said
It’s so much that’s going wrong
I want to shield her virgin eyes so she can’t see
I want to protect her from the world
I want her to be better than me
But I don’t have a watch for time doesn’t belong to me
I hope I’m in that heart of hers because she’s in this heart of mine
I hope she learns to see what has everyone blind
