To All the Moms Around the World

A special ‘Thanks’ goes out to all the moms around the world No one can comprehend the life that you’ve endured Most women become moms in their teens or in their twenties Making decisions about their children many difficult… sometimes funny Juggling your work and home life at the age of thirty to forty Struggling to meet family’s needs hard accomplishment, for the majority They’ve all grownup and gone away by the time you’re fifty and sixty Now grandchildren come to play on creaking floors and stairs that are rickety Retired now, with nothing to do you’ve reached seventy… maybe eighty Your children have begun to realize that you’re a very special lady Some women are lucky enough to make it to ninety… even a hundred You look back throughout the years hoping you’ve helped more than you’ve blundered A special ‘Thanks’ goes out to all the moms around the world No one can comprehend the life that you’ve endured (written 7-2012)
