Tired Santa
Tired Santa

He left his abode at the North Pole
His mission was clearly in mind.
He was accustomed to all the snow and such
He knew what his travels would find.
Children from every land in the world
Waited with excitement immense.
They wondered for days as they waited for him
What, at their home, would he dispense?
At each home he would find goodies galore
Those cookies and milk were waiting.
He gladly consumed much more than he should
He wondered why his weight was never abated.
At last he joyously left that final toy
And began the long journey toward home.
After many days of travelling north
He arrived and felt all alone.
His mission he had fulfilled with no hitch
He now could take a short break.
He discovered later to his own dismay
He had slept for more than a week.
