Tired of Sway

These double standards
Got me standing at the top of this ladder
Wishing for someone to kick it out from under
So I could splatter and cover
                                           The world below
                                  To disappear from the mishap
                                       Or maybe climb down
                                          Run another lap

Maybe someday I’ll have a crowd to clap
Instead of expressing to me that I’m whack
All because I’m trying to run my own track

                                   You’re playing both sides
Making my emotions not sure where they reside
Causing me to sit here teary eyed
All I know is to survive
Please pick a side and stay
Cause I’m tired of the sway
For playing both sides is not my way

                                       So let me resonate
It’s clear we have a different fate
                                       A different desire
                                        One we aspire
For all your negative energy makes me tired
Just a little support is all I ask
To build my fort and make it last

Moving in silence is the plan
Remembering the negativity when you ask for my hand
                                     Going to say no
                                  Sticking to my plan
Tossing all the negativity in the can
