Tired

I'm so tired
of these nights and early mornings that creep
slipping past the hours when I can't sleep.
Restless do I lay
tossing and turning in the dark stretching into day.
A thousand thoughts race through my head
yesterdays, tomorrows and foolish things I dread.
The past cannot be changed and shall remain as is
and tomorrows are unknown woe or bliss.
I should close me eyes and count grazing sheep
what else can help me sleep?
