Tinkle of the Bell

It is the Christmas season, there is no time to stop
There aren't that many more days that we have left to shop
We make sure we have presents for those we love so well
Unlike those that are now served by the tinkle of the bell

We often walk right by them in our haste to find
The special gift or present that we have in mind
We select from all the items that each shop has to sell
Unlike those that now are served by the tinkle of the bell

We all have our problems, times are tougher then before
The rising of the price of things makes them harder to pay for
But every day I give thanks that I have not on hard time fell
Unlike those that are now served by the tinkle of the bell

Once all of the shopping's done, and the gifts are neath the tree
With all the preparations made, time when our mind is free
To remember the true meaning of this time we love so well
And think of how God's will is served by the tinkle of the bell

To read this one more intently than the last time before...it is so tender. You have a heart for the under served, Bob and it speaks volumes of your character. God's will IS being served by the tinkling of the bell. A blessed write. U were the only one who fav'd my Toy in the Box poem. So glad you enjoyed it. You probably knew I practiced singing the song out loud when writing it and my children thot I was drinking liquor. ha ha. They should have known better. lol. Christmas cheer. Gwendolen

Oh, so touching, Bob. I guess the bell is tinkling a lot in the homeless shelters. The distinction between the "haves" and "Have nots" is never clearer than at Christmas time. Thank goodness the Salvation Army is tinkling their bell, trying to raise money to meet their needs. Beautifully written and a very powerful message we should all remember when we think we don't have it so good. Love and Christmas Blessings, Carolyn
