Times That Can Never Return

Those were other times,
times so long ago,
times very different back then.

Memories of places
I know longer know
writing these lines with my pen.

Gloomy is this sad day
and a hard, cold wind blows
as my thoughts return there again.

Glimpses of festive times,
shadows of younger days,
O, I remember back when.

Like Dickens’ Christmas Carol
were those times that once had been,
times that can never return.

Happy, carefree times and yet.........

Hi Ace, ...and yet now, maturity takes our souls searching and our hearts finding rich answers to questions proposed during those festive days of youth. Those nostalgic moments, now visited only briefly every now and again. Those days of youth. Love and blessings to you. Lovingly, Dane Ann
