Notes About The Poem

Change must start with the individual who cares. Government, and others, are not our saviors.

Times Are Not

Times are Not

Times are not what they once were
Of modern ones I'm not a fan
Keep your money for yourself
Forget about your fellow man

When I was young was not that way
But that's long past now's not the same
Hide in your house and hoard your wealth
God forbid, don't learn you neighbor's name

They're out to get you that's the truth
Don't share with them or help them out
Matters not they hunger there
They are useless, have no doubt

Their situation's all their fault
They could work if they were smart
They're not trained for anything
Maybe they need a heart to heart

Go to school and learn a trade
What's that you say? Can't feed your own
I can't help, my money's gone
To buy another, smarter phone
