Time to Say Goodbye
The passing of an age.
We turn the final page and close the book.
We’ve cleared the stage and turn for just another look.
The dream has disappeared.
It’s just as we had feared would come to be.
The time is here but we still call it mystery…
Gone the fire burning and the joy within our hearts.
With every season’s turning we just sat and watched it die.
Gone unearthly passion. Slowly, surely it departs.
When love is merely rationed it is time to say goodbye…
The future might recall
How certainly we fall from such a height.
And, as we crawl, record the failing of the light.
Still as we descend,
Attempting to pretend there’s nothing wrong.
Fading in the end just like the last notes of a song…
Gone the fire burning and the joy within our hearts.
With every season’s turning we just sat and watched it die.
Gone unearthly passion. Slowly, surely it departs.
When love is merely rationed it is time to say goodbye…
And so, we close the door
Not caring anymore about the fight.
Forsake the shore and sail away into the night.
Gone the fire burning and the joy within our hearts.
With every season’s turning we just sat and watched it die.
Gone unearthly passion. Slowly, surely it departs.
When love is merely rationed it is time to say goodbye…
