Time To Retire

Come sit with me, my dear old friend.
beside the fire. Where we will spend
a quiet hour, and reminisce
of days gone by when life was bliss.

And we will take a glass of wine.
I’ll toast your health and you’ll toast mine.
Our golden dreams to pure to last
and now our youthful time has past.

It’s time to step aside, make way,
for those whose youth is of today.
It is to them the mantle fell.
Just pray that we have taught them well.

And those of us who’ve had our time,
relax, recall our own sweet prime.

This is pure magic! Also, I am just recently getting to know your poetry! The poem "INSPIRATION" touched me in a special way! I don't know what exactly did it about that poem, but tonight, I have written over 30 poems. I do write a lot, but 30 is extreme even for me! I thank you for this. AND, I have written a small dedication poem to you for this. I hope you don't mind. If so, I will delete the poem. Although, I really hope you like the words I wrote in respect for you and your work! ~JOEY
