Time To Play

Time To Play by Rick Rucker For my birthday, my lover took me away, She said that it was time to play. She took me for a drive, To a casino, where I became Alive. She went to the slots, and gambled, I wrote poetry, and rambled! To the room, she came back, With her winnings, she has the knack. When she walked in, I could see, She was staring, right at me! I asked her what had I done, She said only,"You are the One!" She said, that as she came in the Door, She couldn't take it any more! She wanted always to come Home, To a poetry-writing Gnome! "So," I said, "What is new?" She said "My mind has changed, I'll say 'I Do! ' "
