Time To Live

Maybe it’s time to live
To remember but let go
So many days have gone by
It seems like a millenia ago

Memories once so vivid
Fading away like fall’s leaves
New ones to replace the old
Even though a heart still grieves

Anger festering but suppressed
Keeping peace from being found
How to break away the chains
In which it’s tightly bound

Faith once present now absent
Lost in the death of a song
Yet angelic music still flows
From a voice beyond but still strong

Dreams from youth quickly shattered
Shards of pain that will always bleed
Picking them up won’t hurt any less
In his memory I must now proceed

Yes, it’s time to live
Even though tears still run
Love will find a way
Because I will always have a son
