Time To Forget

By Michael J Falotico

Today I walk among the steps..
To places where I tried to forget..
Streets that were paved and gone..
A bench that held us must have moved on..
The tree has fallen where a lunch was shared..
Where I whispered my dreams and thought you cared..
Now its a place where I sit and write,
and cry on paper, I wasn't treated right..
I only hope as time goes by,
you may see a book that might catch your eye..
A picture of me with my thoughts and dreams..
As you read my words you may know what I mean..
So now I say goodbye as I walk these steps..
Because now I know it's time to forget..

Michael I wonder if it we ever forget, especially the ones we wish so badly to forget.. I love your line about crying on paper.. Total brilliance, love Wilma

Memories seem to last forever but when the moment has passed nothing can bring back the Splendor in the Grass as the great novel written states.. the movie was on earlier tonight ..one of my favs.. as this poem transcends it becomes magical at the end ... moving the past away to enjoy the present ... delightful reminisce my W.K. your Jersey Girl has many memories too luv..

Seeing this memorable place and noticing the bench was gone and the tree had fallen surely provided you with great inspiration. There are moments when I "cry on paper" too, Michael. I hope one day she does find the book with your photo on it. It will probably make her remember this special time too. Don't worry too much about catching up. I had medical appointments this week and was not able to keep up with everything. Sometimes "life" happens... Love, Carolyn

Drove through a town that had some memories today of the past... Nice just to pass through, and then be home.....MJF
