Time Stands On Toes

Time stands on toes at the tip of a moment
Balancing on a fidgety rock of notions
Holding steady, barely breathing
Battlefield earth has seen her moments

Indiscriminate stabs, slivers in the spleen
She raises her hands and sobs

Badly battered and left for dead, the future
Body of truth covered in sutures
Barely surviving in rivers of alcohol
Drowning liver and rising fumes of fever
Thoughts fired. Pimps pointing fingers
We sat and wet by the rivers of Babylon

Let's see if I can control this load of emotion
Atop a heap of comments, gallivanting eyes
Want to peek at another of nature's freaks
The stage is lit. I hope the fat girl sings
Stop it, you're killing me with those eyeballs

Seeds of hope swimming in a sea with monsters
Diving after specks of sublimination
Dreams within a nightmare, playing elimination
What's done is done, time we cannot retrieve
But here we scan a sea of clues
Anything missed will be covered in the news
