Time Runs Out For Winter In February

TIME RUNS OUT FOR WINTER IN FEBRUARY

Ray of clear sun shows
The whiteness’s rival,
Announcing the soon arrival
Across the heaps of snows

Of a host of its fellows -
Not yet melting -
Calling distantly to spring -
Welcome yellows.

A simple beam of light
A messenger of ablation
Straight silent confrontation
Warning the winter’s white.

I enjoyed this one's imagery, Sydney. The sun is our brightest bringer of change! Luv, Andrea

The first week in February cherry trees start blooming in Florida, Sydney. It's always such a refreshing change to see the vivid color as you describe so well in your poem! But at least you get to see "heaps of snows" instead of just dreary skies in the winter. Blessings for the holidays, Carolyn
