Notes About The Poem

Time Is On My Side

I’d catch you if I could
But timing’s never good.

You gifted me joy, gave me grief, Inflicted wounds, granted relief. Broke me down then healed me anew - Challenged my courage through and through. When darkness shadow fell upon Your steady hands brought me to dawn. You changed me from callous to kind, You opened up my shuttered mind. When my distress was in dispute, You proved forwards’ the only route. Tirelessly you taught me how To savour every bit of now. You formed me fine and aged me too, But I don’t hold it against you. You are my long term constant friend As I’m yours to the very end. Forever I’d hold you nearby, If only, Time, you didn’t fly.

Dear margarita, your opening lines on the top really touched my soul, and i love the way this flows and is woven in such a captivating and evocative manner, “You are my long term constant friend As I’m yours to the very end. Forever I’d hold you nearby, If only, Time, you didn’t fly. “ brilliant ending too! Very well delivered. Congratulations on your win, thank you for sharing this with us

Dear Margarita, What a heartfelt reflection on the complex relationship we have with time. Your poignant words beautifully capture the bittersweet essence of time's passage, its ability to both heal and challenge us, to profoundly shape our lives. Your scenes portray the transformative journey we undergo as we navigate life's ups and downs, guided by the steady hand of time. This is such a deeply personal and introspective piece. We need to cherish each moment and embrace the journey, knowing that time is indeed on our side, even amidst its fleeting nature. Wonderful Read! - Blessings, Daniel

Nicely penned, Maggie, I thought you were talking about Peter at first. I think I've reached the point in life were time is against me rather than on my side. Hope all is well in your part of the world! Hugs, John

Thank you Johnny, nice to hear from you, made my day! Just came back from Antigua, liked it a lot, the resort and everything that came with it. I know sounds like a tease to a hardworking tax guru. Sorry:)
