Time For Change
The tree of life
In the garden of Eden
Its fruits looked delicious
But God had forbidden,
Adam and Eve, to touch this tree,
God planted it there for humanity
To teach the difference between right and wrong.
Sadly this is where everything went wrong.
Eve spoke to the serpent one day,
And this is what this snake had to say,
God gave man free will to choose,
If you prefer, how can you lose?
Silly Eve believed the snake,
And proceeded to make a mistake,
She looked up at the tasty tree
And picked a scrumptious apple
She did this with the greatest of ease
And did not have to grapple,
Eve did not care that she had ignored
The wisdom and truth of God
Nor was she aware
Of the wrong pathway of life,
That she had trod.
Instead, she bit the apple,
Then shared it with Adam,
Who willingly had a bite
Taking it from Eve, the greedy madam.
Encouraged by the evil Serpent
The forbidden tree tempts Eve
Eve tempts Adam,
Power and greed draw all three.
