Time

Time marches on, we must go with the flow
And as we age, it sure doesn't move slow
But for goals to be reached, we must have a plan

I don't expect a timeline everyday and every hour
But if time were under your control, under your power
Pick a time frame at random, maybe five years

Or 10, or 50 or 100 years that might pass
How d9 our plans unfold, I know you have class
What do you see as the ultimate goal

Where are we now, can we get there from here
Maybe if we sit alone and have a beer
I'm sure by now you know I prefer soda

This conversation though, seems one-sided
You always seem to do what I have guided
The conversations cut short when I ask to meet

Do you do this simply to protect a heart that is fragile
This is the case, our love will grow more gradual
But I would like to see you, is there something you hide

With the understanding that we will just talk
Your questions for me, silent as a rock
Do you believe you know everything about me
??
