Time

                                         Again, the house in order,
The day has closed her door,
                                       A door locked tight forever
                                          To live within no more

                                         What have I accomplished,
                                       Before the old clock's chime
Which told me that the day was spent
                                        As onward marches time?

                                            A new day is beginning
                                         newborn at stroke midnight
It finds me sitting with my Muse
                                             Insisting that I write

                                             Musing as I sit here
And type my words to rhyme
I wonder if I've anything to offer
                                                  Father Time
