Time

I remain in perpetual motion with
no uncertain regard for haste, reliably
scornful of erratic pace.
I am unwilling to change.
Bound by quotidian zeal,
I care not for how you feel.
So take no measure in shallow waters,
or eager plight to adorn.
For treasure is sublime,
resplendent in gold and trinkets of old,
but not in time.
My face remains the same.

Excellent personification of time, Jennie. I loved the line "resplendent in gold and trinkets of old". Time can certainly be an old codger, with no regard for haste. I am adding 'quotidian' to my list of favorite words... ~ John
