Tiger Guards His Lady

Tiger’s head raises up quickly. What was that noise? His lady is sleeping, and he wants quiet in the castle. A young page whispers a shaky apology and scampers off. He did not realize that tiger was in the throne room. The princess stirred but briefly. Tiger held his breath. He was guarding her and her child, an awesome responsibility. Given to him by her honor the Queen Mother. He relaxed when she resumed her slumber.
